Born and raised in Trinidad, Geoffrey Holder revealed his genius in his long career through dance, theater, film, music, and art. As a choreographer, designer, director, and actor, Holder is well represented in the research and circulating collections of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. In this exhibition, he is honored for his career in dance and theater, his Tony Award-winning work as director and costume designer for The WIZ, and contributions to the repertory of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Dance Theater of Harlem.

Amba Chevannes, professor, lecturer, screen writer and playwright, has taught across the Caribbean and adjudicating playwriting festivals in Jamaica W.I. Ms. Chevannes brings her work, presented in Europe and North and South America, to JPAC. Her stories take us into the hidden spaces of our societies and invite us, through laughter and tears, to face our own humanity.

NYC native and executive producer, Taaqiy Grant debuts his documentary film, titled HAPI - the Role of Economics on the Development of Civilization, at JPAC.  Through in-depth analysis and commentary by some of today's foremost scholars, the film explores how trade along the Nile River diminished and how it can regain dominance. From systemic poverty, disenfranchisement, and the decline of entrepreneurship, to group economics, social networking and independent startup, HAPI addresses the many complex problems that affect the African Diaspora as well as innovative solutions for successful competition in the global economy.
