Your Fall/Winter edition arrived in the mail yesterday. Wow. It really is a fantastic edition. Obviously a lot of quality work went into producing this. Very impressive. Particularly enjoyed David Bush's piece on Bruce Jenkins, and all the incredible photos that accompanied the story. Great job all the way around.
Such a spectacular way you handle and showcase your photographers!
The new edition is fabulous. You nailed it again! Kudos.

Golden State Warriors
All-Star Game bound! Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were named to the starting lineup for the 66th NBA All-Star Game, to be played Sunday, Feb. 19, in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center. On Thursday teammates Draymond Green and Klay Thompson were each selected as Western Conference reserves by a vote from each conference's coaches. The Warriors will be just the second Western Conference team to have four All-Stars in the game, joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 1998. The Warriors own an NBA-best record of 41-7 (.854). San Francisco 49ers Season Review (partial)
Game Fourteen -- Atlanta Falcons 41, San Francisco 49ers 13
San Francisco 49ers
running back Carlos Hyde continued to run hard, picking up 71 yards on 13 carries, but again the 49ers could not mount a scoring threat in the second half and fell to the NFC North leader, the Atlanta Falcons (9-5), 41-13, on Dec. 18 in Atlanta.
|
San Francisco 49ers
tight end
Garret Celak hauled in two passes during the game, including a 16-yard touchdown pass, but the time of possession told the story well:
|
Game Fifteen -- San Francisco 49ers 22, Los Angeles Rams 21
Having just scored a touchdown to pull within 21-20 with 36 second to play, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick raced around right end for a two-point conversion and brought jubilation to the San Francisco sidelines. Final score: 22-21, and for the second time this season, the Los Angeles Rams have lost to the 49ers.

Foretelling of a good day,

Oakland Raiders
Latavius Murray
Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray scored 12 rushing touchdowns during the 2016 season, eclipsing the rest of the Raiders running backs by seven. Above Murray picked up one touchdown and 57 tough yards on eight carries in their game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sep. 18

Warren Keller (right) receives the Oakland Raiders High School Coach of the Week Award from Raiders safety Reggie Nelson.
Keller, from the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, was selected as the Oakland Raiders' nominee for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award. Representing the best at the high school level, Keller was nominated for the national award, named for the winningest coach in NFL history, for his character and integrity, leadership and dedication to the community, commitment to player health and safety, and on-field success. Keller was selected after his Eagles finished the year with a record of 11-2. Two finalists will each receive $15,000 from the NFL Foundation, $10,000 of which will go to his high school's football program. The Shula Award winner will be announced during the third quarter of the 2017 Pro Bowl.

Saint Mary's Gaels 106, Santa Clara Broncos 15
|
Saint Mary's
center Dylan Audsely (15) kicks the final conversion of the match as the Gaels dominated play for a 106-15 victory over Santa Clara. (Editor's note: The clock can go to 0:00 and then will restart but the match hasn't ended until the last play is completed. Saint Mary's scored before the end of the match but they still had to kick the two-point conversion. This is why the scoreboard is showing 04-15. The two points were yet to be added.) From the outset, the Broncos were not exactly a profile in courage.
On the first play, quarterback John Elway threw too low.
On the second, he threw too high. On the third, he ran for his life.
Less than a minute into Super Bowl XXIV, it already was time for
a
Heimlich maneuver. (Final score: 49ers 55, Denver 10.)
