Chapter News...

A Message from Angela:
Professional Development Director - 2016/17

As the Professional Development Director for our chapter, I have the awesome opportunity to create programs and functions to inspire, educate and promote growth, personally and professionally of our members. My goal is to reach out to each member segment, (i.e. seasoned practitioners, emerging professional, students, our industry partners as well as the consumers of interior design), to ensure everyone has positive growth experiences and takes advantage of all that ASID has to offer, locally and nationally.
The Board works very hard to plan events that are interactive, informative and cover interesting topics, (we think). But obviously, we must be missing something because our members are not showing up!
So we need your help. Let us know what types of functions would be of interest to you.
* When would be the best time of day to hold the events, a midday Lunch and Learn or an evening of Wine and Wisdom?
* Would you enjoy round table discussions to get better acquainted with other professionals and exchange trade knowledge? Or lecture style meetings? An ID business conference?
* How about an event that partners you with a student to mentor?
* Do you need to fulfill your CEU requirement? What do you want to learn, explore or change in your business? New software or apps that increase productivity? Creating webinars or an online store?
* If you were the Professional Development Director, what would your calendar of events look like for the chapter members?
We have monthly events planned but would greatly appreciate your input to make them successful and well attended by our members. I'm asking each of you to complete a brief survey to make your voice heard, or feel free contact me at [email protected] with your ideas and suggestions. Or better yet, join the committee to assist in making our chapter the best in the west!

Have a great day designing,
Angela M. Britt
