Children made Blessings Bags to give to homeless people
Kids Club Ends with Blessings

In Kids Club, the children have been learning about Bible heroes who loved God.  This week we decided that  we can be heroes, too.  We want to spread God's love in the world. We can be heroes by being good friends, sharing and helping others.  We packed Blessing Bags filled with water bottles, granola bars, tissue, and other useful items.  We wrote notes and put them in each bag.  Now we will keep the Blessing Bags in our cars.  Whenever we see a homeless person by the side of the road we will hand them a Blessing Bag and spread God's love in the world.

This was our last week of Kids Club and Music Makers.  Kids Club will resume in the fall.  Mark your calendars now for Vacation Bible School July 17 - 20.  We will learn about Super Heroes!!  (It must be the year of the hero!)

Volunteers Urgently Needed

In observance of Presidents' Day, the office will be closed on Monday, February 20. So this is a good day to strip and wax the floors throughout the building. Volunteers are needed on Sunday after the service to help move furniture, stack chairs, and put away tables.  If you can help with this or for more information, please contact Cathy Rotch (288-3893).

Please remember that the building will be inaccessible on Monday while this maintenance is being done.
  Meet Our Guest Musician
Sunday we welcome Megan Pachecano. As a classically-trained soprano she is an opera singer, concert soloist, musical theatre performer, and recording artist from San Antonio, TX. She holds a bachelor’s degree in voice performance from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in classical voice from Manhattan School of Music. She currently lives in Newport News.
Homeless Shelter Evaluation This Sunday
There will be a meeting Sunday following the worship service to critique our week of homeless shelter.  The coordinators, volunteers and other interested folks are encouraged to meet in Room 210.  If you have any suggestions please share them with this group prior to the meeting.  Thank you again, Wycliffians, and God Bless!

General Announcements

Thoughts from the Worship Committee

  • We are in search of some new choir members!   Can you sing?  Want to be a part of a fabulous, talented church group?  If you answered yes, please join us!  Rehearsals are on Saturday mornings at 10 am. Please speak with Sandi Billy if you have questions.

  • There are a few spaces available on the 2017 Flower Chart that need to be filled.  If you have not signed up to recognize a special birthday or anniversary or to remember a loved one, please check it out.  The chart is located in the Fellowship Hall near the coffee.

  • Please be aware of visitors to our church.  We are seeing new faces each Sunday!  Especially during “Pass the peace”, go up to a newcomer and introduce yourself.  Remember, we are the little church with a big heart.  Thank you!

Our committee is busy planning Lent and Holy Week activities.  If you would like to join the Worship Committee, please speak to Josie Collier or Mark Via.  Many hands make tasks lighter.  Have a great week.

Nickel-A-Meal Program Returns
The Nickel-A-Meal Program (NAM) was adopted by our Presbytery over sixteen years ago to provide funds for hunger ministries within the bounds of PEVA. CS&M is resurrecting this mission at Wycliffe. Nickel-A-Meal (Centsability as PC(USA) calls it) asks Presbyterians to contribute a nickel every time they eat a meal. Over time our spare change adds up and makes a substantial donation that can be used to alleviate hunger and provide direct hunger relief in Hampton Roads.

Currently there is a small plastic jar with a slotted blue top on the cart in the Donation Room to collect your change. CS&M will monitor the contributions and send our collection to PEVA's Hunger Committee once or twice a year.
