#TEAMCOMPACT TESTIMONY
The following testimony
is from COMP
ACT
Hillcrest Program Manager LaDana Pate to her coworkers on December 22, 2016. It is a wonderful example of the Holy Spirit's working power through this ministry and its people.
"As we watched cottages this morning open Christmas gifts that came from so many sponsors, I was in awe of what really happens here at Compact. We do a great ministry and it does take a team to make all this work. Going back over the past year we have seen many successes. This is the season [Christmas] for miracles. We have 3 residents that are going to a forever home this week. What makes these three so special? They are all in our residential treatment program. The purpose of this program is to get the residents to a level where they can maintain in a foster home then get adopted. They bypassed the foster home.
Prior to coming to us, one of the three was in 27 placements within one year. He has maintained with us for almost a year. January would have been a year for him. He is now getting adopted. The second of the three just received his papers yesterday for his forever home. Prior to coming to us, he was in 21 prior placements the same year. Both residents needed what this campus could offer - patience, perseverance, and getting to know them so that we could meet their needs. And what they needed most of all, they met Jesus. The third has not been with us that long and he is being reunited with his family.
So, during this season please don't forget the miracles that we see here. Don't get wrapped up in the busyness and forget God is still shining on this campus and handing out wisdom, patience, perseverance and relationships to these residents that others have given up on.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all that serve here. You are amazing and it takes all of us to do the will of the Father. This passage from the bible applies well to everyone in this ministry or gives to this ministry."
Matthew 25:35-40 (ESV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of t
he least of these my brothers,
you did it to me.'
