CELEBRATING OUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS
Staff and students across Clear Creek ISD celebrated National School Counseling Week 2017 in different ways. The week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the unique contribution and dedication of school counselors and the tremendous impact they can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. CCISD appreciates all they do throughout the year!

BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION WEEK
This week was School Bus Driver Appreciation Week, and CCISD would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our drivers who get our students to and from school safely each week! Click here to see a short video highlighting the passion within these outstanding staff members.
ELEMENTARY CHESS TOURNAMENT
Hyde Elementary hosted its first Chess Tournament with Robinson Elementary and Clear Lake City Elementary. Students enjoyed friendly competition between their peers and activites during breaks. 
WEDGEWOOD CAREER DAY
Wedgewood Elementary parents, representing a variety of careers, inspired students at a recent Career Day presentation by allowing the future workforce to ask questions regarding their jobs. Students in all grade levels also dressed as their favorite or future dream career and came together to parade throughout the building.

CLEAR FALLS LATIN CLUB HEADS TO STATE
The Clear Falls High School Latin Club sent three teams to compete in Certamen Area. Certamen is a quiz bowl-style competition in which teams of four try to answer questions about the Latin language, Roman culture, history and mythology. The Clear Falls Novice team advanced to finals and placed third. The Intermediate team placed sixth overall. The Advanced team placed first in finals and will be going on to Certamen State Competition. This is the first time in Clear Falls history for an  advanced team to make it to State.
HEALTHY EATING & HEALTHY MINDS
Clear Creek ISD's Child Nutrition Dietitian Katie Kyame,  HEB's cooking connections chefs and area community coordinator, and the Landolt Elementary PTA education chair came together to educate parents about healthy meals and snacks that contribute to improved student learning.
