CROSBY LANE IN CONCERT AT WOODLAWN
Join us on Sunday, February 19th at 3:00pm in the Worship Center for a special concert with Crosby Lane.

Crosby Lane is named for one of the most prolific hymn writers of all time - Fanny Crosby. Her inspiring and beautiful lyrics have touched generations of believers. With over 8500 hymns, Fanny expresses heavenly purpose and earthly joy! "To God Be the Glory", "Praise Him! Praise Him!", "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior", "I am Thine, O Lord", "Rescue the Perishing", and "Blessed Assurance" are but a sampling of the unforgettable hymns she has penned. Crosby Lane is all about the music that has moved - and still moves - generations to worship the Lord!

Nothing moves people like music and - exceptional music, can calm the restless heart and exhilarate the waning spirit. While expressing stories in stunning and memorable fashion, a great song carries the listener through faith. There is nostalgia and encouragement which can transport the listener to other places and times. Best of all, music has a one-of-a-kind role in magnifying the brilliance of our Creator!

Crosby Lane concerts and conferences are packed with enthusiastic, organic arrangements of hymn classics. The audience will be singing along at times and listening intently with hearts wide-open at others. Mixed with testimony and the stories behind the songs, the fast-paced entertainment value is high; however, more importantly, it is a most unique worship experience.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELEN VALENTINE!
Member Helen Valentine will celebrate her 100th birthday on April 6th. She is very excited and for several years now she has talked about how she is almost 100. Please keep her in prayer for good health so she can enjoy her special celebration.

Helen & her husband Bill starting attending Woodlawn at the old church.  Bill sang in the choir in the old church and both of them were active at the old Noah's Ark. They had both moved to Mathison Center and Bill has since passed. Helen is currently at Summers Landing. It would be great to flood her with cards for her 100th birthday from her Woodlawn church family. So be on the lookout for cards to buy or make to send to her for April 6th. You can either bring your cards to the church office for delivery or you can mail them to the following address.

WE CARE
In 2016 We Care provided assistance for more families that ever before. The number of large families consisting of 4 or more people seen in 2015 was 288 and in 2016 was nearly double at 555. This past year we dispensed enough food to feed 3,939 adults and children which would not have been possible without your support and generosity. The month of February we are in need of canned fruit, Beefaroni, boxed cereal, pancake syrup, large tooth paste & # 4 diapers.

COLUMBARIUM -
WOODLAWN MEMORIAL GARDEN
A Sacred Place Where People Are Remembered
What is the  Woodlawn Memorial Garden?
Woodlawn Memorial Garden is home to our columbarium, a free-standing structure comprised of niches or compartments in which urns containing cremated remains are placed. Each niche is enclosed by a stone front, on which the name and years of birth and death of the deceased are engraved.

Why is the columbarium  important to me?
It provides peace of mind. Being prepared means your loved ones won't have the burden of trying to manage your wishes and the cost that goes with it. It is accessible and comforting and is the only columbarium in Panama City Beach.

Who may be inurned  in the columbarium?
  • Members of Woodlawn United Methodist Church
  • Immediate family of Woodlawn UMC members
  • Members of another UMC in the Alabama-West Florida Conference
For further information on the Columbarium or understanding the scripture as it relates to your final resting place, visit our website at  Columbarium  or call the Church office at (850)234-3196.
