Gotham City made of felt for "Red Ribbon Week" |

|
Carrie Wade, Assistant Principal |
In honor of our 20th Anniversary celebration in 2017 we will be sharing our Top 20 Teacher Spotlights throughout the year. If you have stories to share please forward them on to
Stephen Bernstein
at Crayons to Computers.
Carrie Wade is the Assistant Principal at Phillip Sharp Middle School in Butler, Kentucky, and has an inspiring story of cultural rebuilding and increased staff morale. At a school that has experienced significant turnover of administrative leaders in the last few years, the staff and students needed to build--and in some cases rebuild--relationships.
One event that best exemplifies the school's cultural transformation was the staff and students' collective effort to produce their "Red Ribbon Week," which is designed to bring about drug and alcohol awareness. The theme for the week was "SHARP Superheros." The teachers and students designed one entire hallway to look like Gotham City, created costumes, and hung gigantic bats from the ceilings, all with felt that was provided by Crayons to Computers, and lots of it. Simply ingenious. Their imagination sparked a week long movement of collaboration, artistic application and teamwork, as well as creating a unanimous outcry to keep Gotham standing after the week was over.
The students were so excited to see their teachers so committed to the project, and it became clear to everyone that rebuilding was taking place right before their eyes, throughout the school. Congratulations on an amazing cultural transformation and thank you for the inspiration.

In case of inclement weather, Crayons to Computers will make a decision by Noon if the Teacher Free Store will close, independently of any school district.
If closed, Crayons to Computers will be listed in the general school and business closings on local news channels WLWT, WCPO and WKRC. Closings will also be pos
ted via social media and on the Crayons to Computers
