Telethon is the foundation that Variety Iowa was built upon and is the highlight of the year. The two-day event is located in the ballroom of the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines and is broadcast live on We Are Iowa (ABC5) throughout Central Iowa. Volunteers are needed to assist in the VIP room, log the telethon activities, be the Variety mascot, answer phones as seat fillers, assist with transportation needs and be part of the Go To Team. June 6-11, 2017: Principal Charity Classic
Variety is honored to be one of six "FORE our Kids" charities who benefit from the Principal Charity Classic. Volunteers are needed marshall hole #7 where they will spot golf balls and quiet the crowds. Volunteers can sign up and pay their $85 through the Variety office. Volunteer registration includes a Principal Charity Classic golf shirt, jacket, hat/visor and free admission throughout the tournament. Email
