The mission of Caring Partners is to equip local churches to utilize health care to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our ministry is blessed beyond measure to serve with so many strong national church partners whose heartbeat for missions mirrors Caring Partners' vision of
'"Evangelism Through Medicine".
One of those special church partners is Sembradores de Vida Church in Guatemala. Dr. & Pastor Fernando Marroquin and his church family have a passion to share Christ throughout the nation of Guatemala. As a result of our first medical mission work together in December 2013, a church was planted in the remote town of Veramina, in the center of a migrant community at the base of the Pacaya volcano in southern Guatemala. And now, more than three years later, Caring Partners remains committed to Sembradores and their growing work in Veramina.
Earlier this month, a Caring Partners mission team of 16 traveled to Veramina for a medical clinic, this time working with both the congregation of Sembradores, and also their church plant "Buckeye Veramina". How encouraging it was to see the local Veramina church family take a lead role in the clinic operations!
On the first day of clinic, at the invitation of the congregation of Buckeye Veramina, many sick people came to the clinic from surrounding towns and villages. Even a few minor surgeries were performed, and some significant health needs addressed. What a blessing to learn that many of these patients also had deep spiritual needs, as almost 30 made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ in our Clinic of the Soul!
Continue to pray for the Veramina church plant. By God's grace, the Lord has placed a call on the life of Miguel, a local man, to be the church plant's Pastor. Dr. Marroquin and the Sembradores de Vida team are providing him Bible training at a seminary, a journey which requires Miguel to walk two hours each way just to catch a bus ride to travel to the school! Praise God for this man's faithfulness in fulfilling his call to serve.

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen."
