Call for Participating Events - 38th Annual Imagination Celebration
Arts Orange County's 32nd Annual Imagination Celebration is Orange County's premier county-wide family arts festival dedicated to building awareness of and participation in the arts and arts education. It is presented by Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education.
Each year between 40 and 50 local organizations participate in the festival by producing their own event during the festival period. The event is then promoted as part of the Imagination Celebration.
Call for Nominations - 18th Annual Orange County Arts Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the 18th Annual Orange County Arts Awards to be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in the Samueli Theater at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

Thanks to the generosity of our underwriters, this year's Creative Edge Lecture, featuring U.S. Poet Laureate JUAN FELIPE HERRERA will offer free admission. (Registration required here.) Herrera is the 21st Poet Laureate of the United States and is the first Latino to hold the position. He was appointed by the Library of Congress in 2015 for the one-year term, then was re-appointed in April 2016 for an additional one-year term. From 2012-2014, Herrera served as California State Poet Laureate. Herrera's many collections of poetry include Notes on the Assemblage; Senegal Taxi; Half of the World in Light: New and Selected Poems, a recipient of the PEN/Beyond Margins Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award; and 187 Reasons Mexicanos Can't Cross The Border: Undocuments 1971-2007. He is also the author of Crashboomlove: A Novel in Verse, which received the Americas Award. His books of prose for children include: SkateFate, Calling The Doves, which won the Ezra Jack Keats Award; Upside Down Boy, which was adapted into a musical for young audiences in New York City; and Cinnamon Girl: Letters Found Inside a Cereal Box. Herrera is also a performance artist and activist on behalf of migrant and indigenous communities and at-risk youth. This is the 8th annual Creative Edge Lecture, presented by Arts Orange County in collaboration with Orange County Department of Education, 4th District PTA and Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The Boeing Company is the title sponsor for the eighth year in a row.
California taxpayers can directly contribute to the Keep Arts in Schools Fund through their California 2016 Individual Tax Returns (due by April 15, 2017) in the "Contributions" section.
The "Keep Arts in Schools Fund" can be found in Voluntary Contribution Section 110 (425) of the "540" individual state tax-return form, and the minimum donation is just $1.
