Collaborative "Familying":
A Roundtable Discussion

March 9, 2017, 7:00 - 9:30 PM
Program begins promptly at 7:00, Doors open at 6:40
Cost: $45 per person, $80 per parent couple

Space is limited

We often say "most parents parent the way their parent parented." It's more than a mouthful, it's a pattern of parenting that many use today. For kids who crave control, though, it can create a seemingly impossible battleground. The good news is that there are other ways to approach parenting that can result in a much calmer home.

Parents are invited to join us for a night of discussion around creating a collaborative family. By sharing our collective experience, parents will learn tips that are focused on how to reduce power struggles with kids and improve the family dynamic. Kids who learn how to be collaborative will gain problem solving skills and improve self-esteem as they learn to handle life's challenges. Parents will learn how to resolve conflict and how to teach kids to problem solve as their go-to tool instead of resorting to yelling and defiance.

Agenda:
7:00 - 7:10: Nadine Briggs, Welcome and Opening Remarks
7:10 - 7:30: Nadine Briggs, How to Collaborate with Your Child
7:35 - 7:55: Jesse Lowe, Hand in Hand Parenting
8:00 - 8:25: Katie Sapp, ABA and Behavior Plans - key elements
8:25 - 9:30: Question, answers and personal coaching (what happens here stays here)
