SAINTS PETER & PAUL SCHOOL

ALUMNI BRIEFS
  A CASE STUDY

During the period that John '68 and Rose Case had their children enrolled at Saints Peter and Paul School, they were very active in support of their four offspring. John coached track, served on the Advancement Board, and was a frequent speaker at Career Day in his role as a pilot for American Airlines. Rose was a room mother, coached volleyball, spent two years as a Home and School officer, and devoted six years as a School Board member.  Like many parents, they freely shared their time and talent to better the Catholic education the entire student body was receiving.

Among their parenting philosophies was informing their children at an early age that they would sponsor their Catholic education at Saints Peter and Paul and Benet Academy. However, it was up to each of them to achieve a college scholarship or be prepared to pay for an undergraduate degree by themselves. As you will read, they each took this motivation to heart.

Christy Case Cunningham '94 - went to Purdue on a volleyball scholarship where she received a B.S. degree in business management from Purdue University and a minor in marketing. She began her career working for Paragon Marketing Group in Niles, IL as an account executive with Gatorade and Continental Airlines specializing in sponsorship marketing.

She lives in Helena, MT with her husband of thirteen years, and former college sweetheart, Carson, and their five children Caroline (11), Case (9), Catherine (6), Indiana (4) and Mabeline (2 months). In her spare time she is the assistant women's volleyball coach at Carroll College, a NAIA school drawing upon her experience in playing for the Boilermakers.

Katie Case Harrington '97 - Like her older sister, she went to college on a volleyball scholarship playing for Tulane University in New Orleans. Both her undergraduate and graduate degrees were earned from Tulane's A.B. Freeman School of Business. For her B.S. she majored in Management and Consumer Behavior and five years later she completed work for her MBA in Finance.

Currently she is the Director of Financial Operations for the Ochsner-West Bank Region in New Orleans. Ochsner Health System is southeast Louisiana's largest non-profit, academic, multi specialty health care system. She and her husband, Michael, were married in 2009 and continue to live in The Big Easy along with their children Jack (4) and Jane

John Case '00 - Received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Engineering Management. In 2014, he earned a M.S. in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology. At this time he is a student at Virginia Tech seeking another M.S. in Operations Research.

He is an active duty Army Officer (Captain) assigned to graduate school at Virginia Tech. Recently he became an Operations Research officer for the Army and will be assigned to West Point in 2018 for a three year teaching assignment in the Systems Engineering Department.  He and his wife of four years, Sydney, have a fourteen month old son, John Peter Walker, and are expecting their second child in June.

David Case '03 - Attended the University of Miami (FL) on an academic scholarship. He graduated with a double major in architectural engineering and civil engineering. He is employed by Citrix Systems, a software company that provides cloud access to corporate applications and data.  His position is that of a Consulting Sales Manager for their in-house consulting group. He lives in Jersey City, NJ with his wife, Alyssa, whom he met at Miami and married in 2015.

SSPP Trivia

When our school was founded in 1853....

.....our students didn't receive a $10 bill from grandma and grandpa on their birthday as that denomination was not printed until 1861 and initially had Abraham Lincoln on the front.  Alexander Hamilton's portrait did not adorn the bill until 1929.
