Dunwoody MLK Day Events Support CAC

Gregory Owens, left, and Parker Stocks helped pack care kits on MLK Day.
Dunwoody residents supported CAC in the city's MLK Day day of service by volunteering at CAC and assembling care packages for neighbors in need.  The city sponsored event also collected food and coats at several participating stores.

The Packaged Good organized volunteers who packed 2,800 toiletry kits. Each contains socks, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, a snack and a card. CAC will distribute the care packages to our neighbors in need and to homeless people throughout Fulton County.
CAC Takes Part in Homeless Count

CAC is participating in an annual event to count homeless individuals in our community and distribute care packages and blankets. CAC assists homeless individuals and families with basic needs and helps them improve their situations. Assistance may include emergency funds for temporary hotel stays.  The count is important because it determines the amount of federal dollars areas receive for for homeless services.  The homeless count is organized by Fulton County and takes place the night of January 26.
