Barbara and EmJae
Barbara and EmJae

In my search and research for an intentional community, I found Hummingbird online and was immediately intrigued.

It was a brisk sunny day when BJ shared her love of and commitment to her community.  She generously gave my friend EmJae and me a day-long tour of the land, the buildings, the dome, and made sure we got to meet her community as well.

The land is magic.  Beautiful woods, open fields, gardens, bees and water.
The people I met all shared a similar love of their land, the community, and the vision Hummingbird holds.

I was touched by the generous and loving energy everyone shared with me.
I felt so welcomed it was hard to leave.
I will return.  My heart spirit is still warmed by my brief but rich time at Hummingbird.

Living Co-Creation

We envision living in a world that is an embodiment of our spiritual essence.

In February, the partners of Living Co-Creation will offer two weekend workshops in California; in the L.A. area (Feb. 11 - 12)  and in Ojai (Feb. 18 - 19) called

In response to the needs of these unpredictable times-and as a natural expression of their souls' callings--Katharine and Makasha Roske and Carolyn and Sanford Anderson are following their inspiration to share the principles and practices of co-creation that they have been living for decades. LINK

Thought Filled Gift Giving

Hummingbird's Own
Santa Visit
In the Hummingbird Community, for Christmas each year we draw names for Secret Santa; then on Christmas Day we gather for caroling, a special Pot Luck dinner, and gift giving.

Something that makes this really special is that just one person's Secret Santa is revealed at a time, and everyone else in the circle listens and watches as presents are opened and baskets uncovered.
Co-Creator's Handbook
Process
Expressing Love for Yourself and Others

Resonance lies at the heart of co-creative practices.  It emerges in a field of love, trust, unconditional acceptance, and mutual support and flowers in "safe spaces." It disappears in the face of judgment, criticism, tension, or animosity.  Resonance begins with self-love and the unconditional love that is freely given by Spirit.  Accepting this love is accepting that one is blessed and worthy of such love; that one is, in fact, love.  It does not depend on other people; it does not depend on what we do, or on our daily successes and failures.  If we judge or condemn ourselves, we are denying the essence of the divine impulse of evolution and the creation of which we are a part.

Agreement #6

Deep Listening

I agree to listen
respectfully to the communication of others and tune in to their deeper meaning.

Over steaming cups of tea, Paula Hutts shared a lovely moment with Norma  Philipps as Paula reflected on this Co-Creators Agreement:

The past year in Exploring Relationship at Hummingbird has given me the  opportunity to begin to listen to people in a different way than I'm used to.  LINK
Regenerative Living
In These Times...
In these times, sometimes unsettling and uncertain, how do I regenerate myself?

Last year, I turned 80 years old.  As I reflect on my outlook for 2017, I realize that over my life I have developed a life-skill for "generating myself."

Examples from my life include:  when I was fired from a job, completely unexpectedly, after a new company took over the business (and I had been assured I would be retained in my position).  I had the opportunity to regenerate myself in my 70s, and I did.    LINK

Walking Your Path
An Excerpt From:
Raindrops Of Love For A Thirsty World
By Life*
*As Shared With Eileen Workman

Beloved , I encourage you to make no attempt to lead others. Walk your own path. Walk it in any direction, and to any purpose, that the song of creation inspires you to travel. Shine the light of unconditional love on your path--for yourself and for the benefit of others--as brightly as you can, despite the stormy weather you may encounter. And should you encounter another whose light shines for you in a moment of darkness, by all means give thanks for that person and walk beside them.   LINK

Hummingbird Living School

As we launch into 2017 Hummingbird Living School is making a transition!

Throughout 2016, we have had in-depth discussions about "What are we becoming?" as a community.  One thing we recognized was our growth and time for independence while acknowledging our interdependence. For most of Hummingbird's history, Global Family, a non-profit organization (NGO), has been the fiscal sponsor of Hummingbird Living School (HBLS).

Last year, in deep appreciation and loving communication with Global Family, Hummingbird Living School determined that it is time for the Living School to apply for its own 501(c)(3) non-profit status. HBLS will continue to expand its current mission as a land-based center for education.  Tax-deductible donations may now be made directly to HBLS.    LINK

The Co-Creator'Handbook 2.0
