Who Are You?
Are you interested in DNA testing, but need more information on the who-what-where before you jump on the genetic genealogy bandwagon?
With nearly 3 million genotyped individuals, genetic genealogy is rapidly emerging as one of the quickest ways to break decades-old brick walls and connect with cousins who are researching the same families.
This presentation will provide an overview of the main types of DNA tests that are useful for genetic genealogy; an overview of the 3 main testing labs, cost of testing, and ideas for motivating family members to test.
Optional DNA testing will be offered for a fee after the presentation.
**Please note that no audio or video recording is allowed.
Newcomers Are Welcome! Breakfast is at your own expense. If you have questions about the Sons of the American Revolution, please contact Bobby Easterly at capteasterly@cs.com
The presentation will be given by Deena Coutant. Deena is a full-time professional researcher and genetic genealogist. She is passionate about connecting the past, present and future generations, through stories, photos, or by uncovering the DNA of those ancestors who were previously lost to history. She provides strategies to help her clients successfully discover, celebrate, share and properly preserve their families’ legacies, through both traditional genealogical research and DNA testing. Deena offers a unique blend of DNA and genealogy services through her company, DigiDeenaFamily Heritage Solutions.
