Happy Valentines Day!  Where Wine and Romance (and spaghetti) go hand in hand!   February is Heart and Stroke month! Medical evidence has proven that red wine in moderation is good for your heart. Studies indicate that people who drink red wine can extend their life a decade longer than those who do not. So pour yourself a glass of red and enjoy your longevity!  
Don't forget Chinese New Year!    Happy New Year: The Year of the Red Chicken!    Happy Family Day too! 
No real Winter yet; which is par for the course as I bought a snowblower for the first time this year!  That's ok, I'd rather brush off the dust then attack snow drifts!

California Merlot(red):  Red fruits, easy tannins and a soft finish are the characteristics of this Merlot wine, produced with grapes from the hot California climate. Merlot pairs well with chicken and lightly spiced dark meats.
Traminer Riesling(white): a blend of two of the world's most expressive grape varieties. Soft in texture and lightly sweet, this wine has apricot and spice flavours and pairs well with spicy fragrant Asian foods.

Kale; an excellent source of protein, Vitamin A,C,K and dietary fibre

Recipe for Super Bowl Sunday!
Baked Kale chips & greek yogurt dip!
-1 lb. curly Kale, stems and large inner ribs removed
-1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 or 2 cloves garlic minced
-salt and pepper to taste
DIP
-1 cup greek yogurt, plain
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. lemon zest
- 1 garlic clove minced, 1 tbsp. virgin olive oil

-Toss Kale with olive oil and garlic
-Spread Kale on parchment paper on 2 baking sheets; oven @ 375 F
-Bake on upper rack of oven for 8 minutes
-Move to lower rack of oven for 8-10 minutes,  until the edges are brown and Kale is crisp when shaken in the pan
Season with Salt and Pepper

-whisk yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic and oil together in a bowl
-salt and pepper to taste
Just like real chips, only healthier (mmm chips!)
