Good Luck, Denise!
After nearly seven years with LAAC, our dear friend Denise Watt has gone to pursue law school full time.
Throughout her time at LAAC, Denise has coordinated with senior legal service providers across the state to increase access to justice for thousands of seniors, organized dozens of SLSP meetings, provided support to all LAAC members, managed our CA Pleading Bank project, worked to increase language access in California's courts, supervised our interns, and so much more.
LAAC will miss her, but we're so excited to see what she will do next!

Welcome Harmony King - Our New Membership and Administrative Associate!
Harmony joined LAAC in January 2016 as the new Membership and Administrative Associate. She holds a BA in Anthropology and an MA in International Relations and is also a certified birth doula. Prior to joining LAAC, Harmony worked with Human Rights in Childbirth and Yayasan Bumi Sehat, both are non-profits dedicated to protecting mothers and promoting birth justice as a human rights issue around the world.
After the 2016 election, Harmony was called to expand your efforts.
"I thought 'what can I do that will serve as many social justice initiatives as possible?' All signs pointed toward legal aid: it was a no-brainer. In this position I get to support the real heroes of our democracy, across various issues. It's an honor to be a part of the team."
As our Membership and Administrative Associate, her main focus is to provide full range support to members. Harmony will be in close contact with you to make sure that LAAC remains vigilant and flexible as we respond to issues you identify in your communities.

LAAC's "Next Steps: Assessing Community Impact from Upcoming Policy Changes in the New Year" Webinar Series
LAAC understands that the policies of the incoming administration will have a significant impact on many of your clients. We are currently coordinating a training series that will address the impact of this new administration's policies on the communities that
legal aid serves.
We envision this as a year-long series, covering a wide variety of topics from immigration, education, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, health care, and more.
If you or someone from your organization has a training idea that you think would fit into this series and you'd like to coordinate with LAAC, email Jasmine at trainings@laaconline.org!
