Robert L. King 1934 - 2017 
Robert L. King of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Akron City Hospital.   He was 82 years old.

He was born on March 13, 1934, in Barberton, Ohio.   He graduated from Wadsworth High School, May 29, 1952.   On June 22, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Gibbs, and together they had two children, Teresa and Roger.

Robert worked for 35 years as an Industrial Engineer at the Babcock & Wilcox Company in Barberton, OH, and after retirement became a genealogist.   He served as a member of the United States Military from 1956-1958.   Robert was a very dedicated father and grandfather, and enjoyed perfecting his strategy in Chinese Checkers.   He loved attending and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.   You would find him every Saturday morning for over 20 years at Buehler's having morning brunch surrounded by his family and friends.   He will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce;  his parents, William and Bessie;  brother, William (Shirley).

Robert is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Michael) Shaffer;  and son, Roger (Julie) King;  sisters, Dianne (Otch) Houston, Jean (Robert) Dillon; grandchildren, Esther, Ruth, Ted, Luke;  and great-grandson, DeAndre'.   Robert is also survived by his companion, Jeanne Roth; and her children, Jon and Sandy (Keith) Deck and her grandchildren Julie (Daryl) Jackson, Emily and Tyler.

The family received friends 4 - 7 p.m. Friday, January 20, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 21.   Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
