The month of February is upon us and for us in Door County that means time for winter activities.  There is plenty to do outside from building snowman, making a snow angel, skiing, dog sledding, etc.  For our more indoor customers, it is a great time to sit by the fire, drink hot chocolate, and watch the snow fall.  Regardless whether you prefer to enjoy indoor or outdoor activities, you can always stop by the Tannenbaum Holiday Shop!  February is a great month to come by as the store is a little more quiet, so it is easy to walk around and take as much time as you need finding your favorite items.  It is also when we start to get in new merchandise for the year!  So be the first to see all the new things at Tannenbaum.

Old World Christmas
This last month we headed to Atlanta for our biggest shopping trip for the year.  We are so excited for all the new products.  One of the first shipments will be our Old World Christmas ornaments.  We have ordered many of your favorite ornaments and have selected a variety of new ornaments to carry in the store.  Some of our favorite new items are: a unicorn, black Clydesdale, humpback whale, triceratops, shot gun, passenger plane, grapefruit, and knitting yarn.  There are also some new dog ornaments (e.g. Siberian Husky, Long-Haired Dachshund, and Chow Chow), Birds (e.g. Northern Cardinal, American Goldfinch, and Blue Footed Booby), and Cities (e.g. New Orleans and Chicago).

And for all our Packers fans, Old World has developed a new selection of Green Bay Packer ornaments.  A perfect addition for any Cheesehead's tree.  And in case you're not a Packer fan, we will also have Bears and Vikings ornaments available too!  These NFL ornaments will be arriving in April.
Archipelago Botanicals
Winter is the time of snowman,  sledding, skiing, and unfortunately dried out skin.  For most of our family, dry itchy skin is a problem year round, but particularly painful in winter. We were excited to find Archipelago products to help relieve itchy skin.  This fine line of lotions comes in six fragrances that are available in two sizes (3.2oz or 17oz).  These lotions are all paraben and gluten free.  We also have some fragrances available in hand soaps.  They make a great gift for a friend (this is how we were first introduced to this line).
Spring Displays
yellow_spring_daffodil.jpgFor those of you who are ready to move on to spring, we have just the thing to help you get your home ready.  Our new spring line is arriving this month!  We have new garland and picks for all your floral needs in pinks, purples, and greens.  We also have some new birds and bunny figurines, perfect to decorate your home for Easter or just to bring a little spring to your home!
Byers Choice Carolers
We have received our shipment of Valentines Day carolers from Byers Choice.  We couldn't be more pleased with the new boy and girl.  This year's Valentine kids are dressed in red and holding "I Love You" Valentine hearts.  And they are coordinated with an adorable dog and/or cat each sitting on red heart pillows.
Arriving this month are two new families for 2017. The Family with Instruments and the Family with Music for all you music lovers.  Also arriving soon is the 2017 Cries of London, featuring the Woman Fruit Vendor.  The Cries of London characters embody the street vendors of London that would walk the streets selling their wares from fresh fish, meat, and a variety of produce.  Over the years these pieces have proven to be the most collectible caroler from the Byers Collection. The 2017 Woman with Fruit Vendor is wearing a blue voile print skirt and red top and carries Seville oranges and a basket full of lemons. She coordinates with a boy and a girl caroler each carrying baskets of oranges and dresssed in red and blue clothing.
Tannenbaum Holiday Shop Reading Corner
This month we wanted to feature the book When Winter Comes by Nancy Van Laan.   From leaves falling on the ground to animals hibernating, this beautiful book highlights the changes that occur during winter. Told from the perspective of a child talking to his parents, this book is a lovely reminder on appreciating the transformation of winter.
