The Legislature adjourned on Thursday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr., and will Tuesday, January 17. Now in its second week, the session will last for 140 days with the last day of the regular session scheduled for Monday, May 29, 2017.
On January 5, Governor Greg Abbott officially appointed Rolando Pablos as Texas Secretary of State. A licensed attorney, Pablos is co-founder and CEO of Uriel Americas. Most recently, he served as CEO of the Borderplex Alliance, a bi-national economic development organization based on the US-Mexico border.
