The RDGA Senior Championship visits the Country Club of Rochester in 2017 - just one of many events for senior golfers on the 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule. Click on the image above for more information - including how to register.
It's been 28 years since the
Country Club of Rochester last hosted the
Rochester District Golf Association
Senior Championships - and this year, the premier local amateur championship for male golfers, ages 55 and above, returns to one of the Rochester area's most prestigious country clubs!
On August 29 and 30, the
District Senior Championship
will visit historic CCR - a two-time host of the U.S. Women's Open - for the first time since 1989. The event features 36 holes of scratch competition for amateur men in four age flights: Senior (ages 55-59), Super Senior (60-64), Masters (65-69) and Legends (70-plus), as well as an overall champion, determined from the Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
And that's just one of the many exciting events on the 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule that area senior golfers - both men and women - can play this year.

REGISTRATION OPENS FOR 2017
DRIVE, CHIP & PUTT QUALIFIERS
SCHEDULE INCLUDES LOCAL QUALIFIER
at GENESEE VALLEY; TWO MORE in WNY

Registration for the 2018 Drive_ Chip _ Putt Championship officially opened this week - with a local qualifier scheduled for Genesee Valley on June 30. Junior golfers - boys and girls_ ages 7 to 15 - from all over the country will be competing for the chance to go to Augusta National for the finals in 2018.

This week, organizers of the
2018 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship - including the
USGA,
Masters Tournament and the
PGA of America - officially launched the opening of registration for this national event for junior golfers - boys and girls, ages 7 to 15 - by announcing the local qualifying schedule for the program's fifth year. The schedule includes dates and locations for participants to play in local qualifiers across the country with the opportunity to advance and earn an invitation to next year's National Finals at
Augusta National Golf Club.
In the
Rochester area,
Genesee Valley Golf Course will host a
Local Drive, Chip & Putt Qualifier for the second consecutive year, on June 30. Additionally, there will be two other opportunities for area juniors to qualify - at the
Fox Valley Club in Lancaster on July 13 and 20. Juniors who do qualify at any of the Local Qualifiers will advance to the Subregional Qualifier at the
Turning Stone Resort on August 16. From there, qualifying juniors advance to the
Regional Qualifier at
Winged Foot Golf Club on October 1.
The
Drive, Chip and Putt Championship aims to help younger generations begin their lifelong connection with golf by providing a fun, interactive platform for participants of all skill levels. This free youth golf development initiative welcomes boys and girls ages 7-15 to participate in separate divisions in four age categories. Local qualifying will take place throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June, July and August. Top performers at the local level will advance through subregional and regional qualifiers at some of the country's best championship venues in July/August and September/October, respectively. The top 80 performers - 40 boys and 40 girls - will earn an invitation to the
National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday, April 1, the eve of the
2018 Masters.

REMINDER: OFFICIAL RDGA SCORE
POSTING NOW OVER FOR 2016
A reminder that the
Rochester District Golf Association's
local
score posting season
has officially ended for 2016. RDGA members can begin posting local scores for the 2017 season
on April 15 - but it is important to note that members who play in active areas outside the RDGA between November 1 and April 15 must still post those scores.
