Hospice East Bay Receives
$950,000 Grant!
Thomas J. Long Foundation to fund multiple programs
assisting families in our community
Pleasant Hill, CA - A generous $950,000 grant from the Thomas J. Long Foundation will enable Hospice East Bay to offer and expand numerous programs that support caregivers and patients, as well as regional non-profit hospice agencies, over a three-year period. The
programs and services that will benefit from this grant include:
- The "Give Me A Break" program, which provides respite for care giving family members who need a break from their responsibilities, but are unable to afford it.
- The "Music & Memory" program, which will dramatically expand its scope and hire a Music Therapist who will help to provide patients with relief from pain and suffering through the gift of music.
- The Non-Profit Northern California Hospice Coalition, which will engage consultative services to create strategies to advance regional, community-based hospice organizations.
"We wish to thank the Thomas J. Long Foundation for providing us with the
support we need to strengthen the compassionate care programs that Hospice East Bay has provided for patients and their families for 40 years," said Cindy Hatton, President & CEO.
"We are hopeful that this significant gift will inspire
other individuals and corporations to take a leadership role in contributing to the important work of Hospice East Bay."
