Microprocessor controlled prosthetic knees have been one of the most significant advancements for amputees in the past several decades. Simply put, they allow the amputee to walk, and not have to think about walking.

The prescribing physician must indicate a K level for the amputee patient.

They also have to include information that justifies the chosen K level within the clinical notes.
