Transferring to a four-year university can be challenging but SBCC is here to assist you with this exciting life transition.

Finding your ideal 4-year college or university requires you to consider the following key points: (1) major, (2) fit and (3) being competitive
  1. Does the university you want to attend offer the major you want to pursue? Keep in mind that oftentimes closely related majors might allow you to still pursue the same academic and career goals.
  2. Would you feel comfortable within the campus culture and environment?
  3. Are you a competitive applicant based on the historical transfer profile of admitted students? Do you meet the minimum required number of transferable units, required courses (English, math, possibly oral communication course and lower-division requirements)?
