The Alliance is a national arts service organization that claims space for all Indigenous performing artists. The Alliance acknowledges the traditional lands and waterways of the Anishinabek (Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation), the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat, and any other nations who cared for the land (acknowledged and unacknowledged, recorded and unrecorded).
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Alliance Coordinator contributes to our Community of Artists [members] by engaging new artists and communities. The Fountain School of Performing Arts (FSPA) invites applications for full-time probationary tenure-track appointment at the rank of Lecturer/Assistant Professor commencing July 1, 2017. The candidate will be responsible for the costume and set design for all FSPA stage productions, and teach related courses in the Costume Studies and the Technical Theatre programs. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Qualifications expected are MFA or equivalent terminal degree and substantial professional theatre experience with a particular emphasis on costume and set design. The focus is on developing 21st century leadership and management capabilities. Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) will be hosting the 2017 PARC Playwrights' Colony from May 7 to 21 in Sackville, New Brunswick on the Mount Allison University campus.
The annual Playwrights' Colony, PARC's flagship program, is a two-week long playwrights' residency open to emerging and established playwrights in Atlantic Canada. At the Colony, eight to ten playwrights from across the Atlantic region will have an opportunity to develop a new script. The Colony offers the most intensive writing opportunity for playwrights in this region. Writers benefit from the one-on-one assistance of a professional dramaturge and the expertise of a professional company of experienced workshop actors (during the second week of the colony).

OAC Launches New Online Grant Application System and New Website
The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has launched a new website to support Nova, OAC's new online grant application and management system, which is now live. The dynamic new website and Nova will make it easier for applicants to search for granting programs that best suit a proposed arts activity.
With the launch of the website and the successful completion of Nova pilot testing, most OAC grant applications will now be submitted online. The new application process will be much easier for OAC's approximately 12,000 applicants each year, and more cost-effective for both applicants and OAC.

As a direct response to the under representation of women playwrights, directors, and diversity in Canadian theatre (diversity in cultural background, physical and mental ability, sexual orientation and age), the Advance Theatre series will showcase dramatic readings of five new plays written by diverse Canadian women, directed by diverse Canadian women. These readings will take place over five days during the Vancouver Fringe Festival, in September 2017.
If you are chosen to participate in the Advance Theatre series, Ruby Slippers Theatre and the Fringe will cover the costs of all rehearsals, your technical rehearsal, promotion, a theatrical venue on Granville Island, and artists' fees for a public staged reading of your new play during the Fringe Festival.

Vancouver arts organizations and other non-profit community groups are invited to submit an application now for the 2017 grant program, which focuses on the activation of underutilized spaces in Vancouver Civic Theatres.
A total of $150,000 in funding is available in 2017 towards the programming of the underutilized spaces within our venue collective.
Spaces eligible for the grant are:
- Queen Elizabeth Theatre outdoor plaza
- Orpheum Annex
- Orpheum Granville Street box office and lobby
- Lobby of all four venues
Organizations applying must have a cultural, social, or other not-for-profit mandate.
