ClassE is where we grow entrepreneurs and nurture success. Read about what we have been learning.

Location: Lifespan Center (unless noted below), 11021 E. Cty. Rd. 800 N. Charleston (Loxa Rd just northeast of SBLHS).  Class is open and everyone is welcome.
Managing Your Time

Students continued working on strategies to become more efficient with their time. They will be using a monthly calendar for the next month to make sure they complete all the tasks given in ClassE and hopefully create a habit of reflecting on their goals and values and making sure their calendar reflects their priorities.

Then,  students watched a video and served as consultants to a manager that had poor time management skills. Their were tasked with generating ideas to imp rove workflow. Some suggestions were: delegate some of the smaller tasks, schedule maintenance on computers, share information with all and organize your day so you are ready to meetings.

Marketing Coles County/Elevator Pitch

Angela Griffin, President of Coles Together and mom of ClassE student Julia, discussed the 4 P's, SWOT and worked with the students on their elevator pitch. The students took some time to discuss their SWOT analysis with their business and gave an elevator pitch to Angela and Gunner Davis, a ClassE alum who joined our class.

Gunner discussed his experience at Indiana State University, where he won a full ride business scholarship he credits because of ClassE. He had wonderful information about college  mentioned that he saw a stocking cap on his campus sold by another ClassE alum Luke Nash. You never know how far and wide ClassE's impact has spread.

The Start-up of American Select Tubing

Mark Manninfior of American Select Tubing, told of his journey to create American Select Tubing when the Monahan Company was sold. He saw a need for broom handles and they had skilled labor in the area, so he wrote a business plan to fulfill that need.

He found investors to buy in because he knew the industry, and did his homework to answer all the questions he anticipated they would have. This is the fastest running line in the world thanks to the innovations on the shop floor.
We are so thankful for the generosity of the Coles County businesses that sponsor ClassE. We hope you support them as they support us!
