New guide assists youth in foster care

For youth entering foster care, the system can be daunting; however, a new guide may help to ease the transition .
DHS ramps up recruitment efforts

DHS underwent a renewed focus on caseworker recruitment a couple of years ago, starting with the roll out of its realistic job preview video and the development of a careers brochure. The department’s efforts to recruit qualified staff have been expanded over the last year due to the hard work of Kelly Dillard, employment specialist in the Office of Community Relations (OCR)
Randolph Brockington recognized for long-term service to Allegheny County

On December 6, County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Council Vice President Nick Futules, and County Manager William D. McKain gathered at the Human Services Building to present Randolph Brockington, deputy director of the Office of Administrative and Information Management Systems (AIMS), with the 2017 Frank J. Lucchino Distinguished Service Award
Partnership with PBS Kids enhances learning opportunities

Thanks to a partnership with PBS Kids, parents and youth in shelters are receiving access to materials designed to educate and engage .
