We're calling all elves, Santa's helpers and United Way heroes:

The United Way of North Central Florida needs your help this week to help make Christmas miracles happen for needy children in our region. Help us meet our goal of serving 1,069 children this holiday season -- that's a 30% increase over last year but we know with your help, we can do it.

Toys for Tots Alachua County is currently experiencing a toy shortage. If you or someone you know can contribute new unwrapped toys, games, or puzzles for children ages 12 and under, please bring your donations to United Way of North Central Florida office at 6031 NW 1st Place before Friday, December 16. Office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Infant toys and items for children ages 9 to 12 are especially appreciated as there is usually a challenge meeting the needs in those age groups.

Thank you for #LivingUnited!
