SLACO Hosts Sustainability Series
How can we make our neighborhoods more sustainable for the environment and future generations? The St. Louis Association of Community Organizations is addressing such questions in a series of free seminars throughout the city this month. Register for one or more to hear thought-provoking speakers discuss the challenges and opportunities for the City of St. Louis and our region.
Fall Festival Celebrates South Grand
The South Grand Business District will host the third Fall Fest on Saturday, September 17th from 10 AM until 10 PM. The event is a chance to celebrate everything that makes South Grand special.
The festival will feature local arts and crafts, live music and dancing, along with food and drink samples from the many restaurants along South Grand, including new eateries and old favorites. Many businesses are offering specials and discounts for the occasion.
Fall Fest street vendors will be set up from Hartford to Juniata from 11 AM to 6 PM. Check out vintage and handmade items, community partners, and a DIY Craft Zone featuring the Contemporary Art Museum, Perennial, Artscope and Craft Alliance.
Entertainment in Ritz Park will go until 10 PM. There will be yoga, dancers and performances by local schools and bands.
Fun Poker Fundraiser for TGNCDC
The Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation (TGNCDC) will hold its Second Annual Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament fundraiser on Saturday, September 24. Along with poker, the "All-In for Change" event will feature stand up comedy by Impolite Company, silent auctions, raffles and more.
Proceeds benefit TGNCDC and its efforts to strengthen Tower Grove Neighborhoods, comprised of Tower Grove South, Shaw, and Southwest Garden.
