I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday. Reflecting on the past year for this, my 100th constituent newsletter since being elected in 2014, it's clear we've accomplished a great deal. By working together to transform ideas into action, we have strengthened our diverse community with more direct democratic involvement than ever before. We've welcomed new residents, businesses and redevelopment projects. We've made our neighborhood safer with the installation of bright street lighting and crosswalk upgrades. And the year ahead will bring a slew of capital improvement projects.
Thank you for all you do to make the 15th Ward a great place to live and work. I'm looking forward to an exciting New Year!
Volunteers Needed for 1-Day Census
Next month, the City of St. Louis will conduct a Point-in-Time count of the homeless population in St. Louis. Many volunteers are needed! The count is crucial for understanding what resources are needed for our city's homeless population and for service providers.
The point-in-time count will be take place on Thursday, January 26th, 2017, between the hours of 5 AM until 9 AM. All volunteers must attend a training the evening of January 17th or January 19th.

Tree Disposal: Free the Dumpsters!
Now that Christmas is over, what should you do with that pine tree or fir? Please do NOT dispose of it in a yard waste Dumpster or leave it in the alley. Leftover trees can be recycled.
After removing all decorations, t
rees may be dropped off at the following locations:
- Forest Park, Lower Muny Opera parking lot;
- O'Fallon Park, West Florissant and Holly, picnic grounds #4;
- Carondelet Park, Grand and Holly Hills, in the area between gate and recycling containers.
Trees will be accepted for free at these park sites until
Friday, January 13, 2017. The trees then will be ground into mulch that residents may take home for free from the same parks. Fake or plastic trees are
not accepted.
Thank you for keeping our alleys and dumpsters uncluttered!
Please contact me with any questions, comments or concerns. It's my honor to serve as your Alderwoman.
