Downtown Restaurant Owner Appears on The Food Network
Adam Gold, owner of Funk n' Waffles

Adam Gold, the owner of Funk 'n Waffles (map), is back on the Food Network, five years after his restaurant first appeared on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." Gold competed against three other chefs in Guy Fieri's newest show, "Guy's Grocery Games" last Sunday. The reality TV competition pits four chefs against each other in three elimination challenges testing their culinary skills as they pick-up food items in the aisles of a grocery store for a chance to win $20,000.

Gold was able to impress the judges, and was ultimately crowned the episode's runner-up. However, he'll leave a lasting impression on viewers for the season. Gold's band, the local funk-band Sophistafunk, recently recorded the theme song for the show!
(PS: Sosphistafunk is Guy's favorite band. They played at his 2013 birthday party!)
