11:00am Tour: John Roebling & Son's Company facilities & Roebling Loft project
Join us as we explore the power of adaptive re-use as a financially feasible development model for preserving historic structures, historic districts, or communities. See firsthand three models that have been used to restore and re-use different parts of the John Roebling & Son's Company facilities in Trenton: public sector ownership and public-funded restoration, private sector ownership and renovation, and private sector ownership and restoration to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards.

A brief presentation on the Roebling facilities and development models will be followed by a tour of examples using the three adaptive re-use models: the original Wire Rope Machine at Roebling Market, future office space at Roebling Center, and the Roebling Lofts. Tour goers will be able to see residential lofts in various stages of construction and the early-20th-century cable fatigue machine used by Roebling to test cable strength, which will be the centerpiece of the Roebling Lofts lounge.

Note: If you are interested in touring inside any of the buildings, please wear sturdy shoes.

Please park in the lot belonging to the adjacent shopping center.
