Monthly story time & craft for children aged 2-8, with a caregiver. A story about a Jewish holiday, teaching, or story, followed by a related craft. This month children will be hearing a story about Tu B'shevat and planting herbs in pots they decorate.

Join us for bagels and shmear (spread) as Sam Zerin talks about his experiences raising his toddler in Yiddish. In this light-hearted session, we'll discover the meanings behind some of Yiddish's most colorful and spicy vocabulary , sing Yiddish lullabies, and learn about new Yiddish TV shows. Along the way, Sam will share his story of how and why he learned Yiddish and how raising his son in Yiddish has deepened his connection to his rich Jewish heritage.

Our ann ual "Bracha LeZichronam" service will provide p articipants with an opportunity to lead parts of the service in loving memory of a loved one. If you would like to share in this experience, please contact Rabbi Adler, at [email protected] or 401-486-0110, who will help you choose a selection and provide you with all the materials you will need. Your name and the name of your loved one will be added to our displayed plaque.
 

Rabbi's Discretionary Fund
The Jewish Alliance,  under the auspices of the Living on the Edge Initiative, has established  a community pilot program.  Under the program, funds have been distributed to a discretionary account to be used solely by Rabbi Adler.
 
The intent of the pilot program is to i) provide assistance to CBD's congregants as well as local members of the community who face unexpected or emergency financial needs; and ii) connect such individuals with RI Jewish communal agencies and related resources.

 Jewish Eldercare CHAVER Program
"Caring Helpers And Volunteers Empowering Residents"

The  CHAVER (Hebrew word for "friend") program, sponsored by  Jewish Eldercare of R.I., is looking for members of the Jewish Community to partner with it and become volunteers.   The program offers training in matters such as Spirituality, Visiting Strategies, Jewish Concepts of visiting and visit guidelines. Click here for more program information.
