We Need New Socks!
...At the Heart of Helping the Homeless

Please help us keep our homeless neighbor's feet warm, especially during these cold rainy storms! Socks are the most needed, but often least donated article of clothing to homeless shelters.

In partnership with the Community Action Team (CAT) we have set a goal to personally collect 400 pairs of brand new socks (youth, women and children) to help then reach their goal 14,000 pairs by January 31st. We have a collection box in the lobby of both our Torrance office (1230 Cravens Avenue) and our Long Beach office (1407 E. 4th Street).  Swing by anytime between 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or drop individual pairs through the mail slot of our Torrance office on weekends.
2016 MLK Day of Service:  "A Day On, Not a Day Off"
...At the Heart of Serving Others

Volunteers Needed:
...At the Heart of Cleaning Up Old Torrance

This Saturday, January 21st, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the Old Torrance Neighborhood Association, under the direction of Project Manager Elaine Thompson, will host a neighborhood cleaning-up near the tracks beneath the 1913  Pacific Electric Railway El Prado Bridge  on Torrance Blvd. - from Western Avenue to Cabrillo, and the surrounding area.

Since the bridge is the gateway to the City, and highly visible to visitors, the community wants to see it stay clean and nice. F or those with students who need service hours, this is an easy way to complete them!

All who live work and play in Torrance are invited to volunteer an hour, or two, to "Pay it Forward" and make a difference in our community. Wear old clothes, sneakers, gloves, and sunblock and meet in the Volunteer Center parking lot (1234 Cravens Avenue) at 8:30 a.m. for a pre-clean up "Tailgate Party" of  breakfast treats and coffee.

Thank You to Our Holiday Elves!
...At the Heart of Giving on Christmas Day

In response to dozens of phone calls from community members interested in volunteering on Christmas Day, we opened our doors and asked for volunteers to help us check, sort and shelve more than 3,000 pounds of donated food in our Food for Kids pantry. We were overwhelmed by the kind, generous "elves" who showed up and donated several hours to help out!
