President,
Hebrew SeniorLife Health Care Services and Hebrew Rehabilitation Center

Dear Colleagues,

I am proud to share a couple of accomplishments with you that helped HSL end 2016 on a high note. Hebrew Rehabilitation Center was named #13 in a list of the Top 100 women-led businesses in Massachusetts for 2016 by The Commonwealth Institute and featured in the Boston Globe Magazine. Contenders were judged on the size of the organization in terms of budget, revenue and number of employees among other variables, management diversity, and innovative projects. This year the competition was expanded to include for-profit, as well as private and publically traded businesses. Hebrew Rehabilitation Center has a staff of over 1,000 employees with locations in Roslindale and in Dedham, on the NewBridge on the Charles campus.

Hebrew SeniorLife was named #19 in the “large company” category by the Boston Globe in its annual Top Places to Work list. This is our second year on the list. Hebrew SeniorLife was featured at #25 in 2015.

Recognitions such as these illustrate our commitment to ensuring our employees are engaged in meaningful work and feel valued so that they can focus on providing quality care and innovative services to the seniors we serve.

New Pilot Program at Hebrew SeniorLife Aims to Reduce Hospital Admissions For Seniors in Affordable Housing

Many seniors in affordable housing endure unnecessary medical transfers for health issues that could be prevented with focused efforts up front. A grant from the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission has been awarded to Hebrew SeniorLife to pilot a new program, “The Right Care, Right Place, Right Time: Effectively Integrating Senior Care and Housing Initiative (R3 Project).” This pilot program will deliver health and wellness services to seniors in their affordable housing environments and measure outcomes.
