Dear Epiphany,

Each year Christian churches worldwide mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity between January 18 (Feast of the Confession of St. Peter) and January 25 (Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul). These two apostles represent the spread of the Gospel both within Jerusalem where Peter preached and to the whole world as Paul traveled widely preaching the Good News of Jesus. This week of prayer has been sponsored by the World Council of Churches since 1968. For 2017, they chose the theme "Reconciliation: The Love of Christ Compels Us" (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:4-20). It seems appropriate today that we all offer a prayer for the strength and unity of all Christians around the world in proclaiming Jesus' message of love, justice, redemption and hope at this time in our world:

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I give to you; my own peace I leave with you:" Regard not our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give to us the peace and unity of that heavenly City, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, now and forever. Amen.
Book of Common Prayer, pg. 395

Yours in Christ,
Rev'd Jen

  • Opportunity to be Received into the Episcopal Church
  • If you have been attending Epiphany for some time, but were baptized in a different Christian denomination (ie: Roman Catholic, Congregational, Baptist, etc.), please consider if God is calling you to make a public, official commitment to the Episcopal Church as your faith home now. During the Bishop's visit to Epiphany on February 12, he will offer the opportunity to receive you into the communion of the Episcopal Church with the laying on of hands and prayer. While we are all members of the Body of Christ no matter what sort of sanctuary we pray in on Sundays, it may be a meaningful step in your own faith journey at this time to mark a transition that has already taken place in your own faith. If so, please speak with Rev'd Jen about this opportunity by next Sunday, January 22.

  • Broadway Musical Series: South Pacific
  • Join Phil Friday, January 27 at 7 p.m. as he walks us through the musical and the movie, sharing anecdotes and back-stories of this masterpiece, all the while playing a digitally re-mastered CD and bringing songs such as "Bali Ha'i," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair," "Some Enchanted Evening," "There is Nothing Like a Dame," "Happy Talk," to life! As always, we ask that you please bring goodies to share with other attendees.

  • Epiphany 10-Year Anniversary
  • On January 29, 2017, we will celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the merger between St. Martin's and St. Michael and Grace churches to create the Church of the Epiphany. By working together, over the past ten years we have received many blessings which inspired the parish to discern its mission, ministries and direction. We have much to be thankful for and celebrate with a Pot-Luck Brunch. Let us celebrate together as we always do - with outstanding food and extraordinary fellowship.

  • For those who seldom carry cash or would prefer to use a credit card, there is a kiosk in the entrance hall outside the sanctuary, next to the elevator, that allows you to use the "Square" app on our iPad to use your credit card. You may either insert your chip card, wave your phone for Apple Pay or swipe the magnetic strip on your card. You can designate your gift as a "loose plate" donation, give an offering for Sunday or holiday altar flowers or even contribute to your pledge.
