Welcome to the start of our 2017 program year!

The board and I are excited about this upcoming year. As you know, the theme for our grants this year is Strengthening Options for the Elderly. Our grants committee is now working to sort through the incoming applications and make their recommendations. Also, we have some important dates in place, so please put these dates below on your calendars now. We look forward to seeing you at these events.

Grants Update

We have received a number of substantial grant applications for our current year's theme, Strengthening Options for the Elderly. Now the grants committee begins the very detailed review process to decide which ones we are able to fund and how to allocate the available money. This committee spends a great deal of time in the review process. We will hear the results of their work at our Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting in May when the grants awards are announced. We will also hear updates from those organizations who received last year's grants on the theme, Providing Safe Shelter for our Citizens, Crisis, Temporary, and Permanent. We hope to see you there.

Women Build Habitat House Update

Board Member Elizabeth Loda is one of those volunteering as a worker at the Women Build house site. She supplied the photo below, which was taken on January 14. The house is really coming along since the first wall was raised in mid-December. Total construction time is expected to be four to five months. We will continue to provide you with progress reports and will let you all know when the house dedication occurs.
