Welcome to a new year! 2017 is starting strong with workshops, conferences, and competitions!
We want to put you in the spotlight!

Your Region 4 CTEIG Technical Assistance Provider, Office of Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, wants to visit you! We are looking forward to planning visits to our Region 4 high quality CTE programs. We want to spotlight your program and share what you are doing within Region 4.
Please submit your top two CTE programs for consideration today! Each submission should include the following:
  • program name
  • school site and address
  • contact name for site visit
  • contact phone number and email address
  • brief description of the program

Work-Based Learning: An Instructional Strategy

 

This session is designed for individuals new to Work-Based Learning, those seeking to better understand how they can embed Work-Based Learning activities into their career pathways and districts interested in establishing structured Work-Based Learning programs. Target audience includes classroom teachers, district/site administrators and CCPT & CTEIG grantees.

Pathways to Jobs or Transfer - Alignment of Community College CTE Pathways with Student Services

 

During this webinar, participants will understand key CTE strategies and concepts for student success, identify commonalities between student services and CTE, build meaningful connections and alignment between student services and CTE and implement innovative approaches to attract students to pathways that lead to both CTE programs and transfer opportunities. Target audience includes post secondary counselors, administrators and others interested in community college career pathways.

CTE Instructional Support/Professional Development Workshop
 
Your Region 4 CTEIG Technical Assistance Provider, Office of Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, will be conducting a FREE one-day workshop at Kings County Office of Education on February 9, 2017 from 8:30am - 3:00pm. This comprehensive workshop will include an overview of CTE instructional support and effective teaching strategies.

Enhancing CTE Pathways through Industry Partnerships

 

This workshop is about starting at the beginning and building a sustainable plan to engage your local industry partners and keep them engaged in advisory committees and work-based learning and actually ha them become advocates for your CTE programs across the community.

3rd Annual Arts, Media, and Entertainment Leadership Institute
 
The 3rd annual AME Institute will be held in San Diego on March 20-21, 2017. Breakout session strands for each of industry pathways, industry panels from each AME pathway, an administrator panel, Job-alike sessions, AME Model Demonstration Site presentations and more.

2017 Educators Rising State Competition

Educators Rising California state competitions provide students opportunities to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills, as well as their knowledge and skills related to future careers in education. The state level competitions are aligned to the Educators Rising national competitions. The top three places in each competition are eligible to compete at the Educators Rising National Conference.

 

The deadline for submitting your entry is February 24th, 2017. For information about each competition, including detailed scoring rubrics and guidelines for submissions, visit the competition webpage.
