2016 PGA OF BC AWARDS REGIONAL RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED 
The PGA of British Columbia is excited to announce the regional recipients and provincial finalists in each of the ten categories for the 2016 PGA of BC Awards. Each category features one nominee from each region, including: Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Interior, and Kootenays/Northern BC. For a complete list of recipients, please click here.
All members have already received a link to vote for their preferred candidate in each category. Voting will remain open for one (1) week, closing Thursday, September 29 at 12:00 p.m. The voting results will then be forwarded to the final selection committee, which consists of past PGA of BC Award Recipients. Please note that voting will NOT directly determine the recipient of each award, but will be used as supplemental information for the committee in their final decision making
Recipients will be awarded at the 2016 PGA of BC Awards Celebration taking place on Wednesday, October 12, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond.

QUILCHENA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB SET TO HOST 2016 PGA OF BC CLUB PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
From September 26-27, 2016, Quilchena Golf & Country Club will host 36 of the province's finest Executive Professionals, Head Professionals, and Head Teaching Professionals at the 2016 Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada PGA of BC Club Professional Championship presented by Club Car.
This year, the PGA of BC looks forward to honouring golf legend Dick Munn by awarding the Dick Munn Memorial Trophy to this year's Champion. Munn was the consummate professional who mentored dozens of Assistant Professionals that went on to be Head Professionals themselves.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
With the 2016 PGA of BC Professional Development Program coming to a close, members can receive up to 16
valuable points towards their position in the Order of Merit or Top 100 Golf Professionals list through volunteer opportunities with the PGA of BC.
In particular, the Association is seeking scheduled member-assistance at the upcoming Buying Show and Awards Celebration. All interested members are asked to contact donald@pgabc.org for available opportunities.

GRAHAM DELAET TO HOST FREE JUNIOR CLINICS AT PACIFIC LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP 
All junior golfers 17 and under are welcome to join Graham DeLaet on Saturday, September 24 as he hosts the Junior Clinic for Kids at the 2016 Pacific Links Championship at Bear Mountain.
Junior golfers will have the opportunity to receive instruction and mentorship from DeLaet during the Junior Clinic, participate in an autograph session with PGA TOUR Champions professionals competing in the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship, as well as watch the Legends of the game practice and play during the Saturday championship round.

BUYING SHOW ATTENDEE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Registration for the 2016 PGA of BC Buying Show is now open. The event is set to take place October 12 & 13 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
The Buying Show brings together golf industry vendors and stakeholders for the province's largest
gathering of professionals. All facility attendees
are asked to register their attendance for the event online.
Back by popular demand, the Buying Show will also feature Educational Events. More information regarding topics and speakers will be released leading up to the Show however, members can expect these sessions to take place on Tuesday afternoon during Exhibitor Move-In, as well as at 8:15 - 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 - 12:45 p.m on Wednesday and Thursday during the Show.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congrats to
Murray Poje
(Tsawwassen Springs Golf) who birdied the first playoff hole at Tuesday's Pacific Links Championship Qualifier at Bear Mountain to claim the fifth and final qualifying spot in the tournament. We wish him the best of luck as he takes on PGA Tour legends this week.
Congratulations to Matt Matheson (Golden Golf Club) for claiming first place at the Kootenays Pro Series Tour Championship, claiming the $1,000 cheque in a playoff against Trevor Simkins (Bootleg Gap). This also lands Matt at the top of the Kootenay Pro Tour Order of Merit with 113.5 points, cashing $400 for his top spot in the standings.
