Thank you!
Thank you!

There are no better words to express our deep appreciation for your generous support in 2016. In this video Executive Coordinator Larry Hovis captures the heartfelt gratitude of all of us at CBFNC. Thanks to you, CBFNC and our ministry partners have served children and youth, refugees, college students, struggling congregations, Hispanic churches, and emerging and experienced ministry leaders.

Your generous support has enabled Cooperative Baptists to engage in Christ-centered ministry throughout our state and beyond.  Thank you for your partnership. We look forward to the many opportunities for ministry in the year ahead.

Martha Stearns Marshall Month of Preaching
Since 2007, Baptist Women in Ministry has invited Baptist churches to participate in Martha Stearns Marshall Month of Preaching by having a woman preach during the month of February. This is an opportunity for you to publicly voice your support of women in ministry, to be counted with other Baptist churches in celebrating the calling and gifts of women, and to remind your congregation that God does indeed call women to the work of the kingdom. But most importantly, this is an opportunity for your church to invite into your pulpit a woman who has never had the opportunity to preach. more information

The CBF Church Start Discernment Cohorts is a free 8-week online experience is for those discerning and living out a call into church starting. It is a creative space for folk who are already in the process of starting a church to explore and work through the vision and mission. This is a safe space for all participants who engage in the secure and private site. Over the 8-weeks, the candidate will be accumulating his or her writings in a church start profile, which serves as a tool for the starter and evaluation tool for CBF.  Future cohorts will be April 23-June 16, 2017; July 9-September 1, 2017: and October 8-December 1, 2017. To join the cohort, candidates must complete this form

Public Policy Update
Federal Judge Stops December 1 Implementation of Overtime Rule
A judge from a federal court in Texas issued a temporary injunction that will delay the December 1 effective date for the new overtime rules from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). For now, this court ruling means that your nonprofit does not need to make immediate changes to comply with the overtime rules. The NC Center for Nonprofits developed a guide to the overtime rules and will keep you posted on the status of future court action on the rules. For more information, contact Jim Hylton, CBFNC Business Administration Coordinator.

Personnel Requests
Frequently CBFNC receives requests from churches about placing an ad for filling church positions or staff. While we do not have a place for these ads in our newsletter, The Gathering, we are willing to publish positions on our Ministry Job Board. We also offer a Reference and Referral service with our Ministerial Transitions Coordinators for staff positions. Please visit our website to learn more about staff placement through CBFNC.

Looking for a Place in Ministry? Learn more about the Ministerial Transitions Facilitators.

List your ministry position on CBFNC's new job board!  Take a look!

CBFNC's headquarters are not in an office suite in Winston-Salem, but in congregations from the Atlantic in the east to the Appalachians in the west. Thank you for your partnership!
