New Assistive Tech Centers Coming To Brookline, Worcester

MABVI is proud to announce the opening of its two new assistive technology centers located at Brookline Senior Center and Worcester Senior Center. This has been made possible with generous grants from the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging, The Highland Street Foundation, The Boston Foundation and others.

The assistive technology program at MABVI will focus on empowering seniors with vision loss as they incorporate technology into everyday life. By pairing seniors with vision loss with volunteers who will teach assistive technology, MABVI is creating training possibilities for seniors, and for younger adults needing job readiness training, internship experience, disability education and advocacy skills. The assistive technology industry is redefining how disabled people interact with the world, and the industry itself is undergoing a revolution.

We want you to feel free to refer your match to any of our services, such as this one. Additionally, these centers will need volunteers as well. If you are interested or know someone else interested in this opportunity, please contact Kyle at [email protected]

Share Your Sight

Our Volunteer Program has grown exponentially in recent years, but even though we now have more volunteer matches than ever, we still have a large waiting list of people in need of volunteers, and that's where you can help.

Help us spread the word about our program! We always say there's no better advertising than our wonderful volunteers and the bonds they form with their matches. So tell your friends, family, and colleagues about your experience and our need for more volunteers. Are you a member of (or do you have a contact at) a business, school, church, community organization, etc.? Let us know by emailing Kyle at [email protected].
