AMENDMENT CYCLE
The Collier County Planning Commission will continue its review at the following meetings:
Date: Monday, January 30, 2017
Time: 5:05 PM
Location: BCC Meeting Room,
County Government Center.
Proposed amendments in the 2016 Amendment Cycle include:
-Changes to the on-site and off-site native vegetation retention requirements
-Storm water management plan requirements
-Adding new uses to the Golf Course
Zoning District
-New section related to golf course conversions.

Construction Workforce Taskforce
The Construction Workforce Taskforce was established via state legislation to address the shortage of skilled crafts people and building inspectors training in Florida. Promoted by the FHBA during the 2016 legislative session, the Taskforce will make a number of recommendations at their January 20th meeting. FHBA staff will help move those recommendations through the 2017 session.
FL Building Commission Meeting
The FBC has completed work on the 6th edition of the Florida Building Code effective January 1, 2018.
FHBA staff has participated for over 2 years in this endeavor.
The FBC will undertake a number of "glitches" to assure the code is ready.
Training is available from the FHBA on the significant code changes.

Collier County's Director of Store Operations, Mara Foley, today announced "Do More with ReStore," a series of DIY (do-it-yourself) events hosted by professional designers which will demonstrate how to reuse and repurpose home furnishings and building materials.
Pulte Home Corporation purchased a 105.65-acre vacant land tract from Chico's Retail Services Inc. for $17.05 million. The tract is located on the southwest corner of Alico Road and Three Oaks Parkway in Fort Myers. Pulte is planning to develop a residential community on the land. The buyer was represented by CEO Randy Thibaut and broker associate Douglas Meschko, of
Land Solutions Inc. (
