Three BC Athletes Retire from Canadian Men's Team
Congratulations to BC Athletes Stephen Bissett, Benjamin Martin & Philip Wright on their great careers with the Canadian Men's National Team. All three athletes announced their retirement from international competition at the end of 2016.

Stephen, 25, played his first international match in a test series versus the United States in 2009. In total, he played 9 international matches at the Senior international level. Unfortunately, Stephen's career was hampered by several injuries over the last 7 years, but his hard work and determination was always on display as he battled back from each obstacle.

Ben, 29, also played his first international match in the 2009 test series versus the United States. He went on to become a stalwart on Canada's defence and played 106 games in total. Ben has played at Pan American Cups, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games and finally, capped off his career at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Philip, 30, played 130 Senior international matches for Canada. He began his career in 2004 at the Pan American Cup in London, Ontario and went on to compete in multiple Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and the 2010 Men's World Cup.

Congratulations again to all three players. Good luck and we look forward to seeing what you do in your future endeavours!
