UC San Diego's LGBT Resource Center presents
Intergenerational Dialogues

Free lunch and Intergenerational Dialogue
Tues. Jan 24th, 2017
12-1pm

Interested in learning across generations?  What is it like to be young and queer?  What is it like to be part of the LGBT community for 10, 20, 30 or more years?   The UC San Diego LGBT Resource Center will host a series of intergenerational lunch conversations over the course of the fall, winter and spring quarters of 2016-2017.   This will be an opportunity for small group of people (no more than 30) to come together, share a meal and learn from one another in a safe and comfortable setting.

We will be mentoring each other in multiple ways across generations. Who are the elders in our communities that have challenged gender and sexual normativity?  What are the experiences of our queer youth?  What does it mean to be in the middle age and part of the LGBT community?  Histories, stories, common experiences - there is much queer culture to explore.  It is rare to be able to engage in intergenerational conversation among LGBT-identified folks.

RSVP  [email protected] by Thursday night

On Saturday, February 11th, 2017, UCSD's HMP3 is hosting the Medical Education for Diverse Students (MEDS) Conference at the Telemedicine Building!

This conference is designed for students that are interested in entering the medical and pharmaceutical fields. We are aware of the need of professionals from diverse backgrounds in the healthcare system, who can identify with an even more diverse group of patients. Therefore, MEDS was created to close the disparities seen in both medical education and healthcare. Most importantly, MEDS now exists to serve the students - to encourage, educate and empower students on their road to a career in health.

MEDS is an all-day conference, where students will get to choose from diverse workshops and activities. Students will experience hands-on activities (such as suture clinic, simulation labs), in addition to workshops that will help students get the information they need to get into Medical/Pharmacy school.

Register and learn more at meds.ucsd.edu!
