Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins TODAY
This year's theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is "Reconciliation: The Love of Christ Compels Us (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:14-20)" As we commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation this year, we once again celebrate together God's love and grace, the "justification of humanity through grace alone." It is time, however, for us to also recognize the pain of the subsequent deep divisions that exist among followers of Jesus. Please join us in praying for unity of all God's church this January. The traditional period in the northern hemispheres for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is January 18-25. You can get more resources about this prayer week at www.councilonchristianunity.org

Faith-based messages on care of creation subject of webinar
Created specifically for faith leaders, Blessed Tomorrow's Let's Talk Faith and Climate guide incorporates research-tested words, phrases, and messaging to help you elevate your voice as a climate advocate in your community of faith. Blessed Tomorrow is a partner of Green Chalice.
The guide will be introduced in a webinar Jan. 26 featuring General Minister and President Sharon Watkins. You'll learn which words to "replace" and what to "embrace" in your communications, and will have access to exemplary techniques to help structure your messaging. Additionally, by following the 15 steps outlined in the guide, users will be encouraged to apply a process to crafting speeches and sermons that is proven to deliver your message in a way that resonates and empowers. To learn more about the upcoming guide (which will be formally released on 1/26), please see ecoAmerica's original communications research, Let's Talk Climate: Messages to Motivate Americans. |
