HEB Transit is an organization focused on providing transportation options for residents of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford. As these cities offer no public transportation, residents who cannot afford a car face many challenges when trying to get to and from work, school, doctor's appointments, or general errands.
The organization currently offers a service to provide transportation to and from work for residents who have no other means of transportation. Riders receive a transit pass each month from a participating agency and pay just $2 each way to work and back. Riders must live and work in HEB, or they can be taken to the TRE station and ride the train if they work in Fort Worth or Dallas. These services are facilitated through a contract with Catholic Charities, which provides scheduling, vehicles, and drivers.
In 2017, HEB Transit is evaluating the services they provide to our residents. Beginning in late January, the HEB Transit Oversight Committee will begin an 8-week strategic planning process to review various options. The planning sessions will be hosted at Mission Central.
