The Friends of the Dover Public Library are pleased to host a performance by noted musician and song historian Richard Kruppa, aka "Ramblin' Richard", on Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm. This entertaining program will bring to light the fascinating, and largely unknown, stories behind some beloved American classics such as "Old Folks at Home (Swanee River)", "Alexander's Ragtime Band", and "Goodnight, Irene". Dover Adult Learning Center Winter/Spring Class Registration Open January
The Dover Adult Learning Center Winter/Spring catalog is coming out very soon - if you would like to be put on our mailing list, just let us know. In the meantime, all of our classes are listed on our website at
www.doveradultlearning.org. Registration for most of the enrichment classes begins January 16, but we have recently added a few more computer classes which are open for registration now. These include Excel Basics 1A on January 20, its companion class Excel Basics 1B on January 27, Microsoft Windows on January 13, and Beginning and Intermediate Computer Literacy, on January 26 and 23, respectively. Come to the opening and ribbon cutting of the museum's redesigned Thinkering Lab! Museum admission is FREE for all on January 12 from 4-6pm during the opening. Using Imagination Playground pieces, kids can shape their environment with blocks, gears, ramps and more. These modular, rectilinear parts are easy to stack, line up and move around. The entire museum will be open, and the opening reception of Unconventional Materials in Gallery 6 will be happening at the same time. Registration for winter semester adult high school classes at Dover Adult Learning Center is open (classes begin in February). Classes include Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and English; they can be used for college prerequisites, obtaining an adult diploma, or other credit needs.
