Your Weekly School Update
December 15, 2017
Stay in the loop of what's going on...
This week's adventures..
This Advent season of joyful anticipation is whizzing by! Although the weather did not quite cooperate with our desire to attend Holy Mass, we were able to very beautifully honor and express our devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday. Thank you so much, to all of the students and families who responded quickly to our request to bring in a rose to demonstrate our great love for the Blessed Mother.

Our students and teachers continue to prepare for the coming of Our Lord and Savior at Christmas. While the rest of the world bustles about shopping and preparing in a material fashion, joyful songs and hymns of praise can be heard throughout the hallways of the school. While the rest of the world focuses on what they are hoping to receive this Christmas, our students continue to demonstrate the joy that comes as we “GIVE TO OTHERS”. Today our 2 nd and 3 rd graders traveled to Gifts to Give to transport the hundreds of toys donated on the Feast of St. Nicholas. The students worked like little elves, as they sorted and prepared the toys for delivery to those less fortunate than themselves. After participating in such a labor of love, they then traveled to Our Lady’s Haven to spread Christmas joy and sing Christmas carols to the seniors! Thank you for your generosity as we collect gift cards for our adopted St. Vincent dePaul families. A special “shout out” to Mrs. Bentley’s 5 th graders who conducted a bake sale to increase their giving to others! If you have not done so already and would like to participate in our great act of love to our Advent families, please pick up a gift card in your travels this weekend!

This upcoming week will be a fantastic frenzy of faith filled fun. Small Christmas celebrations will be taking place, and preparations will continue for our annual K-5 Christmas Concert and Nativity Pageant to be held on Wednesday evening the 20 th at 6:30pm. If an evening performance (and a large crowd) is not your preference, we will also be conducting a full performance at noon on Thursday the 21 st . Please plan on joining our school family in a true celebration and reflection on the real meaning of Christmas!

God bless and have a wonderful weekend! Happy Gaudete Sunday!

FLY on the WALL...
heard from the HALL

This week's fly hovered around the 2nd grade classroom as cupcake decorating club was taking place. This month's cupcake creation involved an adorable replica of Jesus in the manger.
The following was heard:
"This cupcake is so good... and so good for you! Sweet Baby Jesus!"
