International Recognition Shines on Travel South
 
What a month! After the success of International Showcase, we were notified that Travel South USA was awarded "Most Improved Overseas Destination Marketing Organization" by the National Tourism Awards in China. This recognition is given to a travel marketing organization that has significantly improved its effort to engage with the Chinese tour operator, travel agent and traveler.
 
Showcase Brings the World to the South

Many of you have expressed how much you enjoyed International Showcase.... we cannot thank you enough for the kind words.

In turn, we cannot thank enough the sponsors of the seven 
FA M trips held immediately after IS. Because of their resources, efforts an d knowledge,  we  were able to demonstrate vital and off-the-beaten-path spots of the South, receiving maximum exposure for Southern destinations.  Please view the entire list of those who helped showcase our wonderful region and thank them.

Sharing our Story with the World
FAMs Sell the South

T he last quarter of the year is always a busy one. While we are putting the final touches on International Showcase (and preparing for Domestic), we were also showcasing our beautiful locations to the international media.

From September to December, we held numerous FAM trips for journalists from Australia and Italy displaying multiple sites in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

The first quarter of 2018 looks equally as busy; we will share their contributions on social media as they become available.

U.S. Civil Rights Trail
Debuts January 2018

Over the past year, Travel South USA has been working on a tangible way to tell a vital part of Southern history in a defined and immersive manner.
The U.S. Civil Rights Trail  is a collection of more than 100 churches, courthouses, schools and museums in the United States that played a pivotal role in advancing social justice in the 1950s and 1960s, shifting the course of history.
 
With sites across 14 states, the Trail will officially debut January 
2018 to coincide with Martin Luther King's holiday and will allow visitors to witness the destinations and landmarks that defined the settings of the American civil rights story. 

The N.Y. Times , U.K. Independent and Travel and Leisure have already devoted a considerable amount of coverage on this project.
